OROVILLE – The California Department of Education has selected the Butte County Office of Education as a recipient of a $2.2 million award through the California Community Schools Partnership Program Implementation Grant, BCOE has learned.
“We’re thrilled at the opportunities this grant will provide for our community schools,” said BCOE Senior Director of Alternative Education Nick Catomerisios. “It’s affirming to the direction and vision we have for our students, our families, and our schools. We can provide opportunities to collaborate more and better connect our students with the community.”
The CCSPP grant will fund integrated support services, family and community engagement, collaborative leadership and practices for educators, and expanded learning time and opportunities. For BCOE, that means more support for three of its community schools – Come Back Butte Charter, Hearthstone, and Table Mountain School.
“We’re excited about being able to listen to the needs of our families and students, and have the ability to act on them,” Catomerisios said. “It’s going to allow us to better support our small schools and at-promise populations that we serve. “
The CCSPP implementation grant funding period ends in June 2029. For more information on the program, visit the California Department of Education.
